Hiya; thanks for commenting!

To answer: On occasion, though it's not really my normal bag of cats. I don't think my skills are well-rounded enough to offer up my services on general terms ... It's a case of "If you want something that looks suspiciously like something I've already done, I can do it again ... but if you want something that looks different I may have to become a hermit for six months to learn how," and that's not a very good position from which to freelance, since nobody should have to foot the bill for six months in the woods with a laptop (just think of all the batteries)!

That said, I'm constantly hermiting for my own purposes to learn new stuff.

This is beautiful work ... all your gallery is really lovely--but of course I'm prejudiced in your favor, as I have a thing for a.) maps and b.) ships. I'm definitely interested in the story behind it all! :D

Hi; thanks! I love your stuff too ... Anything nautical and swashbuckly gets me sighing and belting out shanties :)

Writing the story behind it all is how I spend most of my time nowadays (the graphics are something I fell into accidentally when a deadline loomed close ... but a lifetime of map-obsession helped me survive) :)

:ahoy: Aye! :p

And you say it's getting published? Excellent! I'll definitely keep my eye open for it. Er ... what's it called, then?
:iconcapnflynn:
Oops, looks like I just put my foot in my mouth. ^^; I was thinking of someone else's work that was getting published. Sorry about that! Anyway, I hope yours gets published too, as there is a dearth of good adventurey stories out there, IMHO.
:icontemphis:
Oh, no, I don't mean I write that kind of story ... I write sourcebooks for games that describe fantasy places (well, sometimes books that describe real places, too) :) I did the first versions of some of these maps when the publisher of one got desperate enough to let the writer try his hand at the mapping.

This particular bit is from a lil' eBook of mine called "Uresia: Caravel." It's more for adventure-gaming than for adventure-reading, though. If curiosity strikes, though, the page for it is at [link] -- note that I didn't (and couldn't possibly!) do the character illustrations. Those are by a groovy girl named Chun. I just do maps & plans :)

I just keep putting my foot in my mouth don't I? ^^; Adventure gaming is awesome, too!
