Maps & Anaglyphs

Sun Jun 10, 2007, 5:28 PM
I've been a regular DA lurker lately (I rarely go a day without visiting; there's always too much new to see), but not very regular on adding new deviations of my own. With today's new anaglyph I break the dry spell a little. Soon I'll have new Uresia wallpapers (teasers for the new edition) to upload as well, along with yet more anaglyphs, since I seem to be addicted to them, now.

My wife and I have arrived safely in Denver, too, so that's been both inspiring me and slowing me down (most of my work is still in boxes - yeek)!

Hope this finds you well, and thanks for dropping by.

  • Listening to: The Blues Brothers version of "Guilty"
  • Reading: Some Fighting Fantasy paperbacks
  • Watching: Catching up on old seasons of Angel.
  • Playing: LotR: Third Age [GBA] with Sandra, hotseat
  • Eating: Awesome leftovers from Little India
  • Drinking: Some kind of sugar-free mix drink or other

So ... Journal, Huh?

Mon Jun 13, 2005, 4:43 AM
I'm still figuring out the way the site works, so here's my first stab
at a journal entry ... Hi! I'm Temphis (S. John Ross). Thanks for dropping
by.

For those puzzled by the subject matter of my Deviations, I guess a
quick summary is in order: they're all wallpapers (and so far, all 1280
x 1024 wallpapers) depicting cartographic imagery from a fantasy world
of mine, a place called Uresia: Grave of Heaven (it's called
that because most of the gods died a while back, and fell to earth smashing
the former empires into a cluster of islands). If any of that sounds amusing,
you can read more about Uresia at a homepage I've built for it, Blue
Lamp Road
.

If none of that makes any sense at all, the wallpapers are kind of nice
to look at anyway. They're digital creations built from hand-made doodles.
My medium of choice (pre-Photoshop) is pretty much "any pen I
have handy" applied to "any paper with a blank spot left on it."
My usual pen is an ordinary Flair felt-tip from Paper-Mate/Sanford, or
a Sharpie for large details.

I'll write more journal entries now and then, and I've got more wallpapers
I want to post eventually. In the meantime, I've got to get back to work
(got a deadline tomorrow morning). Hope this finds you all well!
