Many of you have seen this one before, but it occurred to me this morning that I didn't have it on dA yet, so here we go.

This is one of two "long strip" maps prepared for the forthcoming 2nd Edition of Uresia: Grave of Heaven. The other one shows the rural "neighborhood" of the village of Rogan's Heath; this one shows the larger neighboring-duchies area around the city of Shadow River, extending diagonally across Temphis to Clawsport.

There's a lot of story behind this map, some of which may be inferred from examining it closely, some of which will be explained in the accompanying text, most of which (naturally) will never be told at all. But the short version is this: once there was a great adventuress who lived to a ripe old age, and didn't slow down until she finally stopped altogether. This map is more about her than it is about middle Temphis.

Medium is mostly digital: vectors + rasters + hand drawn elements doodled on graph paper, scanned in, and assembled. The fonts used are my very own Hultog, Hultog Italic, Hill Country, and Temphis Brick.
